Hi Artsies ❤️

I know, I’ve been gone forever.

I was going through a spiritual awakening and then I fell pregnant(LOL!) That took entirety of 2 years, I think I’m back now though and obviously the first blog will be about a babies room or play areas.

Colours

For the colours for babies it’s best to have soothing colours like pastels, it is the 21st century and 22 years in we don’t focus on blues and pinks unless you really like them. Nude colours and natural tones are mostly what parents go for giving baby a safe feeling jungle vibe.

This colour is beautiful which is calming, refreshing and nurturing. It promotes a space to learn in and opening up the mind. This is amazing for a new born and learning baby who starts being inquisitive as soon as they come into this world. Always make sure that it is a space that you love as well for those sleepless nights of growth spurts, teething and sleep training.

Yellow is a good one for kids especially the older they get, the more vibrant the better. Subtle yellows can promote cheerfulness, energy and liveliness. Using this in the play area is a good idea as it will stimulate your child to want to be in that space more often and less likely to need you with them in that space at all times. I do encourage spending at least an hour or so a day simply doing what your baby wants to do, giving them the time they want.

Just like my previous blog about how colour can affect the mind, the same goes for the colour you paint your baby’s room or play area. You’d be shocked on what you can promote within your child’s mindset just by being a little more mindful.

Decorative Items

I absolutely love the name on the bedroom wall trend, it gives so much more of a personal touch to your baby’s room. I do however believe the best time to put the name is when they are one and noticing things a bit more. So if you’re a budget queen like myself, keep the decorative name for later on in babies life.

Take note of the colours used, this can even be a play corner near your lounge area with cabinets for all the toys for when baby is done however giving the baby full reign to do what they please.

The above chalk board type of paint promotes creativity for your baby as well as peace of mind for you as a parent that you won’t need to clean your walls because your child will draw on your wall, it’s up to you if you make it fun for both you and baby.
